We are pleased to introduce the new Setra model 278 barometric pressure transducer for the accurate measurement of barometric pressures.
The Model 278 transducer, which features a high level output signal, fast, dynamic response and proven stability and accuracy, is ideal for the environmental extremes typically found in Automated Weather Systems (AWS) applications. The Model 278 is designed with patented electronic circuitry and Setra’s SETRACERAM™ variable-capacitance sensor, which is a symmetrical ceramic capsule that deforms proportionally to applied pressure. A standard element in many of Setra higher accuracy transducers, the SETRACERAM™ sensor provides excellent thermal expansion coefficient and low mechanical hysteresis, which contributes significantly to the long-term stability of the Model 278.
The environmentally rugged Model 278 is temperature compensated for changes in temperature from –40° to +60°C (-40° to +140°F) with accuracies to within ±0.5 hPa/Mb of the Full Scale pressure range. Offered in absolute pressure ranges from 500 to 1100 hPa/mb, 600 to 1100 hPa/mb, and 800 to 1100hPa/mb, the Model 278 provides long term stability of 0.1 hPa/mb Full Scale per year. Users can choose either a 2.5 VDC or 5 VDC output with 9.5 to 28 VDC excitation.
The Model 278 consumes low levels of power, while its instant warm-up feature makes it ideal for environmental applications where pressure readings must be taken quickly. The Model 278 offers a 1/8” barbed fitting for push on tubing and a 5 pin terminal strip for connection to a datalogger and signal connections. In addition, the transducer’s compact size (3.6” x 2.4” x 1.0”) makes it easy to install and convenient to use. |
