The valve is easy to mount, smooth to operate, and economical to manufacture, all of which make it a high-quality product at a competitive price. Due to its reliable operation, this ball valve has become a very popular control and shut-off valve incorporating both manual and remote control.
The structure of an aluminium ball valve is very simple, consisting of a body that contains the ball and its seals, making it an extremely maintenance friendly design. The lightweight and corrosion-resistant construction of the assembly is quick to install and offers reduced vibration on pipelines.
Typically, the O-rings of flanges and stems are made of Viton. Valves are also available with O-rings made of EPDM, NBR, or PTFE depending on the media requirements.
General Technical Specifications:
- Sizes – from DN10 up to DN200.
- Pressure Classes – from PN6 up to PN40.
- Materials – include AISI 316L, AISI 304L, Aluminium, Carbon Steel, Duplex 2205, SuperDuplex 2507, Titanium Gr-2, Hastelloy, POM and more.
- Temperatures – from -55°C to +180°C typical (up to +300°C with metal sets/o-rings).
- Connections – include threaded (such as NPT and BSP), butt weld ends, flanged, hose connections, sample taking connections and other custom joints available on request.
- Design/Flow Pattern – 2-way and 3-way configurations, available in manual, pneumatic and electric actuation types depending on requirements.
- Suitable for Media – including Hydrogen, Natural Gas, Methanol, Ammonia, Oil/Gasoline, Liquors/Acids, Glycols, Powers, Glues and Inert Gases/Liquids.
- Certifications – to ISO9001, ISO14001, PED (2014/68/EU), 3.1 and 3.2 Material Certificates, ATEX, DNV, ABS, LR are all possible.
A popular use case is in vehicle applications due to the low net weight and high reliability. The Jouka DN100 aluminium ball valve, equipped with a hard-chromed steel ball, was developed specifically for VAC truck applications.
